ChorusThe first semester of Chorus begins with Mrs. Blanzy the day after Labor Day. Chorus will be offered in the morning before school begins due to the busy schedules of so many families. Classes will be held once a week. 1st and 2nd grade will have practice at the main campus multipurpose room in the 200 building. 3rd thru 5th grade will have practice at the George Anderson Building in the Enrichment Room.Chorus is an opportunity for children to begin using correct singing techniques. They will learn about breathing, posture, musical phrasing, and proper use of their head voice. Mrs. Blanzy will promote a confident stage presence and professional attitude. As a member of LFPS Chorus, students will be expected to display cooperative behavior at all times. Students practice to perform music to the best of his or her abilities and it's important for students to remain on task. If a child joins, they will be expected to stay focused, learn their music and to be courteous to others. A fall field trip for chorus students will be planned. Students will work on music for this performance and also for the school’s December holiday program. 1st-2nd Grade
3rd-5th Grade
*Registration forms are being sent home with students and additional copies may be found at the front desk. Orff ClubThe Orff Club meets Thursday mornings from 8:00 to 8:30. Any 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student may join. Regular attendance, however, is encouraged as this is a performing group. Meetings begin after Labor Day and run until Christmas Break with a performance at the holiday program. A new group will form after the holidays and run until the end of the school year with a performance at the Spring Sing.
Recorder ClubRecorder Club is open to any student in 4th and 5th grade and meets on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 to 8:30. Students will need to purchase a soprano recorder available at Allegro Music or Music Shack. Meetings begin after Labor Day and run until Christmas Break. A new group will form after the holidays and run until the end of the school year.
